Everyone is influenced by everything that has ever happened to them, every piece of music they've ever heard, every time they feel angry about something, and every time they want to say something. The thing is, being in a band gives you the opportunity to say it.

Usually sharing your influences is a way of saying "we sound like this..." That makes people feel safe because they know what they're getting. You know what you're getting.

Another reason for having your influences displayed though is a way of introducing people to the music you like, which they may or may not be aware of, and that can only be a good thing. Access to the bigger picture when it comes to music can only be good. This is preaching to the converted because if you're reading this, you already know it.

We couldn't possibly list all of the artists we like here but we'll try to make this interesting. Obviously there's no point putting Madonna down is there?
